Sierra Stevens, LPC-S, CDCII

Sierra is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University in Portland, OR. She graduated in 2007, is licensed in both Alaska and Oregon and has lived in Alaska for the last 10 years.

Sierra uses a trauma informed framework and believes in the intrinsic ability for each individual to heal, find their own path and create a life of meaning. Her therapeutic approach is strength based, person-centered and uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). 

She has worked with a variety of populations and settings such as residential treatment for teen girls with mental health and substance abuse concerns, outpatient therapy at community mental health clinic, counseling at the University of Alaska Anchorage, as well as a behavioral health consultant in an integrated primary care clinic at the Native Medical Center.

Sierra specializes in trauma and PTSD, anxiety and depression, and believes in generational healing and post traumatic growth. She works with a variety of concerns such as chronic pain, prenatal + postpartum depression/anxiety, grief and loss, OCD, alcohol and substance misuse, ADHD, gender identity and relationship concerns, among others. Sierra believes that each of us may experience stress and challenges in life at times and that therapy can be beneficial for personal growth and transformation for everyone.

Muranda Griggs, MS, LPC, CDC I, MAC

Muranda earned her Master’s in Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse from Southern New Hampshire University and has been working in the field of mental health since 2008. Muranda has worked school and community based mental health programs, juvenile detention and probation settings, VA clinics, adolescent substance abuse treatment, the child advocacy center, and the emergency psychiatric department. Muranda specializes in adolescents and children who’ve experienced trauma or abuse, anxiety, depression, school challenges, and adjustment issues. Muranda also enjoys working with the parents of youth whose life challenges are causing them anxiety, depression, or distress. Muranda is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Expressive Art Therapy (TI-EAT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Structural and Strategic Family Therapy, and Narrative Therapies and offers a well-rounded, client-centered approach to treatment. Muranda’s dog, Remi, is in training and loves to visit with clients during sessions when appropriate.

Judith Lindenfelser, RN, ANP

Judith is a board-certified Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. She uses a combination of talk therapy and medication management to improve such problems as anxiety, 
mood, and cognition. Her most used modalities include psychoanalytic, family systems and cognitive behavior therapy. She has a special interest in creativity. Judith has worked with individuals, 
groups and families in a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, private practice, and academia.

John Harpole, MA, LPC, NCC

John earned his Master of Arts in Counselor Education from Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alaska and Missouri. Additionally, John completed training as a psychodynamic psychotherapist in St. Louis as well as education as a School Psychological Examiner in Missouri and worked for St. Louis Public Schools completing psychoeducational assessments. John has worked in private practice as well as community mental health.

In Alaska, John has worked in both rural areas as well as Anchorage. He is well versed in multicultural issues as well as in crisis work. 

John has additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. John has experience working with individuals, couples, and families.

Desiree Niederer, LPC

Desiree Niederer graduated with a master’s degree in counseling from UAA in 2004. A lifelong Alaskan, she has been practicing in the mental health field for 20 years. Experience includes residential care for emotionally disturbed teens, acute inpatient psychiatric unit experience, and emergency department mental health care. She has also practiced individual and group counseling in private office settings for the past 5 years. She specializes in the treatment of higher risk teens and young adults. Desiree has a specialized focus on assisting others to develop their fullest potential, enhance self-esteem, and identifying personal strengths. Desiree has experience that includes, but is not limited to, marital counseling, adjustment to new family systems, trauma recovery, dual diagnosis substance abuse concerns, mood disorders, crisis intervention, anxiety and social navigation.

Jamison Cole, LCSW

Jami was raised in Anchorage and has been here all but seven years of her life. She earned a master’s degree in Social Work at University of Alaska, Anchorage (UAA) in 1998, a bachelor’s in social work in 1994 and an Associates in Human Services – emphasis in Youth and Family in 1991. Prior to that she earned a Child Development Degree. In the past she has worked in a variety of settings including Mental health (anxiety, psychosis, mood disorders), psychiatric emergency services (suicidal and self-harm thoughts), crisis intervention, residential substance abuse treatment, domestic violence, PTSD and other trauma, grief/loss/life changes and family services including parenting and communication skill building. Jami uses a variety of treatment modalities including Strength Based, Person/Family/Systems Centered approach, Brief Solutions Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness techniques.

Jami’s core values are respect, personal responsibility and acceptance. She enjoys reading and spending time with her large family, both core and extended.
